Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) conducted an auction for 1,000 t of steel grade pig iron on 8 April 2022 from the Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP). The base price was set at around INR 57,000/t. However, buyers showed no interest due to the higher base price and booked only one lot (100 t) at INR 57,050/t exw. At the company’s previous auction conducted on 23 March, buyers booked 700 t of similar grade material at INR 60,800/t exw.
