SAIL flagged off the first consignment of hot-rolled coils (HRC) from its new hot strip mill-2 (HSM-2) at Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 28 Dec’21. The 3mn t/year mill can roll coils with thickness between 1.2 and 25.4mm and width ranging between 725 and 2,150mm. Also, the plant has a 0.4 mn t/year sheet shearing line for the production of HR sheets.
