India: SAIL records highest-ever production, sales in FY’22

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has recorded crude steel production at 17.4 mnt in FY’22, an increase of 14% from 15.215 mnt a year ago. Hot metal production grew by 13%, while saleable steel sales jumped 16% y-o-y. The steel major sold 16.2 mnt of steel during the fiscal, 8% more than FY’21. Export volumes of finished products surged 21% y-o-y in FY’22.
