State owned – Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) under Ministry of Steel has offered Pig iron from its Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) based in Central India. The offers are the through the steel large (BSP) are competitive than the deals through the stockiest & private producers.
As per sources, BSP is offering Steel (basic) grade pig iron at INR 30,000/MT (USD 416) ex-plant & excluding GST. Bulk purchase discount being offered through the producer of INR 400/MT on purchase of above 500 MT. Thus, the landed cost to Raipur based inductions would be close to INR 29,900-30,000/MT FoR Raipur.
Meanwhile offers through the stockiest & private producers for same grade in Central India, Raipur hovering at around INR 30,100-30,300/MT FoR & excluding GST.
SAIL is India’s largest steel producer in terms of capacity with an annual installed capacity of about 21 MnT followed by JSW Steel at 18 MnT, as on financial year 2017-2018.
