Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Government of India Enterprise, offers 10,000 MT Pig iron (basic grade) for sale from Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) through its open offer.
SAIL is offering 10,000 MT Pig iron at INR 23,300/MT (ex-Rourkela), which is available for sale on “As is Where is” and “No Complaint” basis against 100% advance payment by Road only. Company has followed the suit by reducing Pig iron price by INR 700/MT. RSP has offered Pig iron at INR 24,000/MT in the month of August.

Price mentioned above is exclusive of taxes & duties and will be applicable as on dispatch date.
Minimum Booking Quantity: 50 MT or its multiple for road dispatch.
Loading
- Loading shall be done by the concerned party with its own labor & equipment for which loading charges shall be declared for excise purpose.
Important Date
- Booking period: Till 18 Sep, 2014
- Sale period: 19 Sep to 18 Oct, 2014
Dispatches will be against 100% advance payment.
Recently, other giant companies like NINL & RINL have also reduced their offers by INR 400 & INR 500 respectively to promote buying against dull demand. Currently, their offers are floating at INR 22,500/MT (ex-Cuttack) & INR 24,100/MT (ex-Vizag) in the market. Secondary manufacturers in India are offering Pig iron in the range of INR 22,500-24,500/MT (ex-Plant).
