IISCO Steel Plant (ISP), a unit of Steel Authority (SAIL), has invited bid for purchase of Iron Pellet in West Bengal on open tender basis from the indigenous manufacturers. Pellet requirement is for the month of Nov-Dec’14.
Pellet manufacturers maintain domestic offers at fix rate since last two weeks because of short supply in the domestic market. East Indian Pellet producers such as JSPL, Essar Steel, Bhushan Power & Steel and Arya Iron & Steel aren’t open to domestic sales; reason being either restricted production owing to scarcity of Iron ore or in-house consumption of the produced material.
The company will use reverse auction process for price bid.
General Conditions
Tenderers must be indigenous Pellet producer with capacity of minimum 250,000 MT pa Pellet. They should be able to produce & dispatch minimum 15,000 MT of Pellet within a month

- Size: 9-16 mm
Total Quantity: 20,000 MT +/-10%
Bidders have to bid for the whole quantity; failing which the bid would be rejected.

Mode of Dispatch: By rake on freight pre-paid basis

Note: SAIL has also invited another tender for purchase of 4,000 MT Pellet for its DSP unit till 31 Oct, 2014.
