Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) conducted an auction for 1,000 t of basic grade pig iron on 6 Jun’22 from its IISCO Steel Plant. The base price was set at INR 47,000/t, but buyers showed no interest due to the high floor price and the auction closed without a single bid being placed. SteelMint tracked pig iron offers by private producers on 7 Jun hovering around INR 45,000/t ex-Durgapur.
