SAIL conducted an auction for 11,000 t of full-length commercial rails on 9 Apr’22 from Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP). The base price was set at around INR 54,000/t. However, buyers showed no interest due to the higher base price and booked only 1,000 t material at the base price. At the company’s previous auction conducted on 21 March, buyers had booked 6,000 t of rails at INR 55,700/t exw.
