- Uttar Pradesh receives 83,154 MT, followed by Karnataka at 82,397 MT

Rice rake movement across India remained active, with total tracked movement reaching 439,012 MT according to BigMint data till 20 September 2026. The movement covered major consuming states across northern, southern, western and northeastern India, with the Food Corporation of India (FCI) featuring prominently among the listed consignors and consignees.
Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka record highest inflows
Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest rice inflow at 83,154 MT . Supplies originated from Haryana, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh. FCI, R.S Traders, Shiv Shakti Agri were among the listed consignors and consignees.
Karnataka followed closely with 82,397 MT, with rakes arriving from Odisha, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. FCI and the National Co-operative Consumers’ Federation (NCCF) were listed among the key participants.
Tamil Nadu, Gujarat see substantial movement
Tamil Nadu received 53,597 MT, with supplies moving from Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh. The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation and FCI were listed among the participants. Gujarat recorded 46,760 MT, with supplies originating from Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. FCI, Gurudev Agro, and Shriramlalmal Agro were among the listed participants.
Other states record steady rice movement
Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Kerala each recorded 23,994 MT of rice rake movement. Andhra Pradesh received supplies from Chhattisgarh, while Jharkhand received rakes from Odisha, Punjab and Chhattisgarh. Kerala’s movement originated from Telangana. FCI was listed among the participants for Jharkhand and Kerala.
Assam recorded 23,487 MT, with supplies coming from Delhi, Punjab, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh. Rajasthan received 20,630 MT, mainly from Punjab. Maharashtra recorded 16,508 MT, with supplies from Punjab and Chhattisgarh, while Bihar received 16,258 t MT from Punjab. FCI was listed among the participants in both states.
Rice movement extends to northeastern states
Jammu and Kashmir received 10,315 MT from Punjab, with FCI listed as the participant. Among northeastern destinations, Tripura recorded 5,280 MT, with supplies from Delhi, Haryana and Punjab. West Bengal received 3,364 MT from Punjab, while Manipur and Mizoram each recorded 2,579 MT, also sourced from Punjab. Nagaland recorded the lowest movement at 122 MT, with supplies originating from Delhi.
Outlook
Rice rake movement is likely to remain active in the coming weeks as FCI dispatches and regional rice requirements support inter-state movement. Continued supplies from major sourcing states such as Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Odisha are expected to remain important for meeting demand across key consuming and distribution centres.
