In a confirmed deal, 4,000 t of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 13,500/t at Gangavaram port as against INR 15,200/t on 29 Oct’21. Portside RB2 trade remained largely muted amid weak demand from sponge iron producers. A total of 0.5 mn t of South African coal is set to arrive between 4-14 Nov’21, CoalMint data shows.
