India: Power consumption rises 5%, y-o-y, in Feb’22

India’s power consumption increased 5% on the year to 108.66 billion units (BU) in Feb’22, registering its highest y-o-y growth in the past six months. In absolute terms, monthly consumption was down 3% compared with 111.81 BU in Jan due to the lesser number of days in Feb. Otherwise, the gradual rise in temperatures lifted average power consumption to 3.88 BU/day in Feb as against 3.61 BU/day in Jan.
