India: Portside South African RB3 prices rise to INR 15,000/t in Vizag

In a confirmed deal, 6,000 t of South African RB3 (4800 kcal/kg NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 15,000/t at Vizag Port. Sponge iron manufacturers continue to procure low-CV RB3 coal over mid-CV RB2 as the latter’s prices are as high as INR 17,200/t. Market participants expect imported South African prices to remain firm amid limited vessel arrival from the country in the upcoming weeks.
