India: Over 5,000 t of sponge iron sold in Raipur, Chhattisgarh

SteelMint’s price assessment for sponge iron P-DRI (FeM 80%) fell by INR 700/t to INR 38,300/t exw Raipur. Prices fell due to declining billet prices and selling pressure faced by a few sponge iron producers, although demand recovered somewhat today.
About 3,200 t of deals for FeM 80% material were reported at INR 38,200-38,300/t exw & DAP, while about 2,500 t of FeM 78% material deals were concluded by mills based outside the state at INR 37,600-37,700/t DAP Raipur.
