The interdepartmental committee headed by Development Commissioner, UN Behera will consider another 11 Iron ore and Manganese mines by next week. These mines include KMC (3 mines), OMM (3 mines), Avik Jain ( 1 mine), Tarini Minerals (1 mine), RP Sao (1 mine) and Narayan & Sons (1 mine).
If these 11 mines got recommended by the committee and subsequently by the government, the total number of mines cleared by the government within one month will reach 37. Out of these, 33 mines are Iron ore and Manganese mines.
The inter-departmental committee had recommended 26 mines on the basis of the new MMDR Act on 4 Apr’15 and the recommendations have been granted by the state government on 17 Apr’15.
