India’s largest iron ore miner – National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) is likely to resume its iron ore operations and dispatches from Bacheli and Kirandul mines from today (26 Mar’20), SteelMint learned from its reliable sources. However, manpower availability is a matter of concern.
It had suspended operations on 24th Mar’20.
NMDC produced 29.12 MnT iron ore so far this fiscal (Apr’19-Feb’20) out of which 22.27 MnT was produced from its Chhattisgarh mines and rest 6.85 MnT from its Karnataka mines. NMDC’s Chattisgarh mines is a key source of raw material for state-based units as well as units like Vizag Steel, KIOCL, JSW Steel, etc.
