India: Met coke imports rose by 46% in Apr’22 with highest volumes from Poland

CoalMint data shows that India’s met coke imports in Apr’22 stood at 380,000 t, up 46% m-o-m and an increase of 19% y-o-y. The highest volume of imports has come from Poland followed by Indonesia, Colombia and China. AM/NS was the top receiver of coke at 220,000 t followed by the Rashmi Group and IMR Resources. The rise in coke imports is due to increased in-bound shipments of cheaper coke from China.
