Melting scrap prices today moved down sharply in the markets in north India following a correction in prices of semi-finished steel amid low demand for finished steel products. In other parts of the country, too, prices witnessed a correction in the range of INR 300-700/t except Jalna in Maharashtra. Prices may drop further, even though slightly, particularly in the western India-based markets like Gujarat.
