Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market increased by INR 300/t d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 38,500/t ex-yard. An uptick in semi-finished steel prices in the second half of yesterday’s session and moderate buying interest for scrap from the induction furnace-based mills at Bhavnagar prompted suppliers to hike their offers.
