Melting scrap prices rose by INR 400/t in Alang on 1 Jan’22. The trade reference price of HMS (80:20) is assessed at INR 37,400/t exw, whereas attachment scrap prices are assessed at INR 38,400 exw. Improved market sentiments in north and central India as well as active transactions in semis in the Gujarat market prompted scrap suppliers to raise offers today, sources shared with SteelMint.
