Melting scrap prices gained INR 200/t in Alang on 8 Dec’21. The trade reference price of HMS (80:20) is assessed at 36,900/t exw, whereas attachment scrap prices stand at 37,900/t exw. Improved market sentiments and the rise in prices of steel billets along with slight improvement in spot trading sentiments led scrap suppliers to hike offers, sources informed.
