Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 200/t d-o-d on 19 Feb’24, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 32,700/t ($376/t) exy. The price hike comes as semi-finished steel prices in the region increased by approximately INR 300/t in yesterday’s trading session. Active buying inquiries for scrap further encouraged suppliers to raise their offers today.
