Melting scrap prices today jumped by up to INR 800/t amid positive sentiments and few transactions. In the Northern region (Mandi Gobindgarh), prices improved by approximately INR 500/t on moderate supply of semi-finished and finished steel whereas in the Southern region, prices remained range-bound on steady demand. Prices in the near term may remain supportive without any major changes, trade sources reported to SteelMint.
