Shipbreaking melting scrap prices declined sharply by INR 2,500/t d-o-d in Alang, Gujarat. On a weekly basis, prices plunged INR 5,200/t, SteelMint assessment shows. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 43,000/t exy. Subdued demand and the lack of buying enquiries following the continuous correction in prices of semis amid dull trading in finished steel led to the correction in scrap prices.
