Melting scrap prices strengthened by INR 700/t on the back of adequate transactions in semi- finished and sponge iron, trade participants reported to SteelMint. Major hike was assessed in the northern region by INR 700/t whereas other scrap markets saw marginal increase by INR 100-300/t. Market participants expect prices in western India to inch up further.
