Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang increased by INR 500/t d-o-d on 23 Jan’26, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 33,000/t ($360/t) exy. The regional market witnessed active trading yesterday in the second half of the session for semi-finished and finished steel. Additionally, improved inquiries for scrap prompted suppliers to raise their offers today.
