Melting scrap prices edged lower across markets on 31 May’22. The key factor behind the fall in scrap prices may be limited semi-finished steel demand in the spot market, which put pressure on raw material viz. sponge iron and melting scrap prices. However, prices remained supported in the Jalna market due to scrap shortage, while remaining unchanged in a few other locations.
