Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. (MCL) has become the leading coal producing subsidiary of Coal India Ltd. (CIL) by attaining output of 158.28 mnt as on 14 Mar’22. In the process the company surpassed the previous high of 157.35 mnt set by South Eastern Coalfields Ltd. (SECL) in FY’19. For the current fiscal, MCL has set a target of 163 mnt of coal production.
