Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL) has commissioned its new 360,000-tpa sponge iron plant at Ghugus, Maharashtra. The company has successfully brought the first kiln into operation, with a phased ramp-up currently underway. The project was completed within 18 months from the receipt of environmental clearance, reflecting efficient project execution. With this addition, LMEL’s total sponge iron capacity has risen to 700,000 tpa.
