India: JSW Steel’s crude steel output rises 7% m-o-m in Aug’22

Steel major JSW Steel’s crude steel output rose by 7% m-o-m to 1.67 mnt in Aug’22 against 1.56 mnt in July, as per company reports. On an annual basis, output grew by 22%. Shortage of iron ore in Karnataka and Odisha kept the average capacity utilisation at 87.4%.

Product-wise output in August-

  • Flat rolled steel: 1.20 mnt, up 12%, m-o-m.
  • Long rolled steel: 375,000 t, up 3% m-o-m.
