Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) has recorded its second highest quarterly production ever, marking a growth of 20% to 2.01 million tonnes (mn t) in Q1 FY ’22 as against 1.67 mn t in the year-ago period, as per the company’s recent BSE filing. Despite challenging demand conditions in the domestic market due to the second wave of COVID-19, JSPL’s sales stood at 1.61 mn t, up by 3% in comparison with 1.56 mn t in Q1 FY ’21. Export sales accounted for 34% of total sales in Q1 FY ’22.
