India: JSPL Steel reported a surge in production and sales volumes in Q3 FY’21

India’s leading steel mill – Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) set a record on monthly production and sales volumes in Dec ’20, in the latest press release in BSE.

The details are mentioned below:

1.Production volumes up 20% in Q3FY21 –JSPL production volumes posted a record standalone steel production of 1.93 mn t in Q3 FY ’21 up by 20% compared to 1.61 mn t in Q3 FY ’20.On a monthly basis, the company reported their highest ever monthly production volumes with 0.73 mn t in Dec ’20 higher by 18% against 0.61 mn t in Nov ’20.JSPL’s integrated steel plant in Angul reported the highest ever monthly production to 0.41 mn t and the Raigarh steel plant also reported the highest monthly production to 0.311 mn t.

2.Sales volumes increased by 12 % in Q3FY20 – JSPL sales volumes stood at 1.87 mn t and increased by 12% as compared 1.67 mn t in a similar time of the previous year. Meanwhile, on monthly basis, the company recorded the highest ever monthly sales of 0.71 mn t in Dec ’20 higher by 25% against 0.57 mn t in Nov ’20.

3.Steel exports increased by 18% in Q3FY21 – JSPL exports increased by 18% to 0.387 mn t in Q3FY ’21 contributing 21% to the total sales volumes.

JSPL is likely to achieve a sales volume of 7.5 mn t in FY ’21 as per statement given by the MD, Mr. V R Sharma. He further added that the company has hiked steel price by INR 1,000/t today and the total price hike from Q2FY21 to Q3FY21 has been in the range of INR 5000 – 5200/ t. Limited supplies, revival of the construction and white good sectors are expected to drive the demand.

We will achieve even greater heights in times to come,” said Mr. V R Sharma, Managing Director, JSPL, in a statement.
