India: JSPL plans to set up 2 mnt coal gasification unit at Raigarh facility

JSPL is planning to set up a coal gasification plant at its Raigarh facility in Chhattisgarh, recent reports quoted MD V.R. Sharma as saying. The unit would have an annual capacity of 2 mnt and will produce steel from domestic coal. The syngas derived from the gasification process is likely to be used in sponge iron production as well as in the glass and ceramic industries.
