India: HPGCL tenders for purchase of 2.3 MnT Imported Steam Coal

HPGCL floats a tender for purchase of 2.3 MnT imported Steam Coal for its various Thermal Power plants. Out of total quantity, 1.3 MnT will be purchased on the behalf of Jhajjar Power Limited (JPL) on High Seas sale basis (HSS) en-route any port of Western Coast of India.

Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL), a government electricity generating company, has invited bids for purchase 1.0 MnT imported Steam Coal for its various thermal plants namely Panipat Thermal Power Station (PTPS) at Panipat, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant  (DCRTPP) in Yamunanagar and Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Station (RGTPS) based in Hisar.

Also, on the behalf of JPL’s Mahatma Gandhi Thermal Power Plant (MGTPP), the company intends to procure 1.3 MnT Coal on High Seas Sale basis.

General Condition:

  • Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) having turnover above INR 10 billion and having experience for supply of above 2 MnT imported Coal during past 3 financial years to NTPC/ other CPSUs/Power Plant /Steel Plant/Cement Plant/Fertilizer Plant in government/Private sector are eligible to participate
  • Bidder shall mention the name of Western Coast port for easy evaluation of bids

  • GCV: 5800-6500 Kcal/Kg
  • Total Moisture (ARB): 10-20%
  • Ash (ADB): 8-20%
  • Size: 0-50 mm
  • VM (ADB): 25-45%
  • Fixed carbon (ADB): 30-50%

Unloading of Coal: Shall be done by respective Power plants

  • Bid opening date: 16.00 hrs on 10 Oct, 2014
