Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) has gotten the environment clearance (EC) of Surda mines from the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, SteelMint learnt. The mine was closed for last two years. The company also got the approval to produce 900,000 t of concentrate from this mines. At present, they have consent to operate for production of 3.17 lakh tonnes only.
The company’s copper ore production was recorded at 352,000 t in FY22, as per SteelMint data.
