India: Hindustan Copper announces INR 2,000 crore capex plan for next 5-6 years

Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) has announced an INR 2,000 crore capex plan for the next 5-6 years to expand its mining and production capacity. The company aims to acquire new copper deposits in India and abroad, sign MoUs with PSUs, and explore collaboration with Chile’s Codelco. Meanwhile, in Q1FY’26, HCL’s consolidated net profit declined 29% y-o-y to INR 134 crore from INR 190 crore a year earlier.
