Transporters’ strike in Gujarat finally called off after a week long time. The strike was started on last Saturday i.e. 07 Dec, 13.
Finally transporters’ strike is called off in Gujarat. High diesel prices forced them to demand an increase in freight charges. Their demand a hike of INR 100/MT’s but, Steel manufacturers refused to pay. However, transporters agree to call off strike after getting INR 45/MT’s increment in charges. Earlier they were paid INR 335/MT to supply in local Alang which is now increased to INR 380/MT.
However, there are still some the manufacturers who disagree to pay the revised charges.
