In an inkling of the kind of participation the commercial coal mining auctions are likely to elicit, the Union Ministry of Coal has received offline bids for only 23 coal mines out of the 38 blocks offered for auctions. In all, 46 companies have placed bids for commercial coal mining. Coal Ministry sources said online bids will be opened on 30th Sept’20.
