India: Ferrous scrap imports fall sharply over 40% m-o-m in Feb’23

India’s ferrous scrap imports stood at 0.87 mnt in Feb’23, down by a sharp 43% compared to 1.52 mnt in Jan’23, according to SteelMint’s data. Imports fell for the first time in the last eight months.
USA was the largest supplier at 0.26 mnt in February followed by the UK at 0.08 mnt and the UAE at 0.07 mnt.
However, the volumes surged 200% y-o-y compared to Feb’22.
