South Korea’s ferro chrome import volumes from India shrunk 4% to 75,487 t y-o-y in H1 CY’21 as against 78,679 t in the corresponding period last year. Key reasons behind the fall:
- Ferro chrome prices were recorded at their highest level in H1 CY’21.
- The second wave of the pandemic impacted Indian production and shipments.
- Due to robust demand and high prices of manganese alloys, some ferro chrome smelters shifted to manganese alloys production, curtailing the availability of ferro chrome in the Indian market.
