India: Disparity prevails in South African RB2 coal offers amid weak demand

As the domestic market continues to remain sluggish, a few traders are offering RB2 (5,500 NAR) coal at INR 8,000/t whereas others have kept prices higher at INR 8,400/t ex-Gangavaram. Imported South African thermal coal prices have inched up again this week amid civil unrest in South Africa, which has resulted in the Richards Bay port terminal announcing force majeure and Transnet postponing its scheduled annual rail line maintenance by a week.
