India: CREDAI members to halt construction on surging raw material prices

The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) members of Maharashtra and NCR-Delhi region are likely to halt construction activities due to surging raw material costs such as cement, steel, sand, bricks and other construction materials. SteelMint’s Rebar Bf-route prices rose by almost INR 9,000/t m-o-m to INR 70,800/t exy-Mumbai basis in Mar’22. On the other hand, cement prices hiked to INR 400 from INR 260 levels, as per media reports.
