India: CIL plans to raise coal exports to neighbouring countries

Coal India Ltd. (CIL) is planning to increase coal exports to neighbouring countries such as Bangaldesh, Nepal and Bhutan. However, given the tight domestic supply conditions, increase in shipments is unlikely till the end of 2022, Chairman Pramod Agrawal has said. Under a new proposal, 3% of the company’s annual production of over 600 mnt will be earmarked for exports.
