SAIL conducted an auction today for 100,000 t of iron ore tailings (Fe 59%-indicative) from its Barsua iron ore mines in Odisha. The auction received bids for the entire material offered at INR 3,290/t ex-mines, including royalty, DMF, NMET and additional premium, SteelMint learnt from sources. The last auction held from Barsua in 21 Dec for Fe 59.8% grade ore was concluded at INR 2,750/t.
