India: CCI’s cotton procurement at MSP crosses 104 lakh bales; 17.5 lakh bales sold so far

Cotton procurement at the minimum support price (MSP) by the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has crossed 104 lakh bales (170 kg each) in the 2025-26 season, 4% higher than last year’s 100.16 lakh bales. Telangana led procurement with 31.7 lakh bales. The agency has also started liquidating stocks, selling 17.5 lakh bales from the current crop. With MSP purchases closing around mid-Mar’26, procurement may end as the second-highest since 2019-20.
