Sponge iron prices in Karnataka’s Bellary remained unchanged on 22 Jul’21.
Current offers for sponge C-DRI stand at INR 30,000/t ($403). A few bids have been reported at around INR 29,800/t. Meanwhile, about 300 t of deals were confirmed at INR 29,900-30,000/t exw-Bellary. Also, around 1,600 t of P-DRI deals were reported at INR 29,000-29,300/t against offers at INR 29,400/t exw.
Most of the deals were concluded for Hindupur and Chennai. Mill owners continue to keep prices firm due to sufficient orders in hand for the next couple of weeks.
