China: Ferrous scrap imports surge to nearly 0.3 mn t in H1 CY’21

China imported 297,800 t of recycled steel materials (ferrous scrap) in H1 CY’21, up sharply against 10,400 t in H1 CY’20.
Japan remained the top exporter with 215,600 t of exports followed by South Korea and Hong Kong.
However, on a monthly basis, China’s scrap imports fell by 31% to 76,000 t in Jun’21 due to bid-offer disparities.
