India: Australian 4400 NAR prices reach INR 12,250/t at Ennore Port

In a confirmed deal, 5,000 t of low-CV Australian 4400 kcal/kg NAR grade coal was booked at INR 12,250/t at Ennore Port by a Chennai-based sponge iron maker. Limited domestic coal availability has compelled sponge iron manufacturers to procure imported coal from Australian Carmichael mine which can largely be used as a substitute for South African coal.
