- Domestic buyers remain active in SAIL auction
- High-Grade fines retain price support
SAIL’s Odisha iron ore auctions held on 25 September witnessed strong participation, with the entire 39,980 tonne (t) offered being booked, reflecting sustained buying interest from end-users.
The strong auction response comes despite continued volatility in the domestic iron ore market, indicating that buyers remain active for competitively priced material.
At Bolani Mines, the entire 20,000 t of iron ore dump fines (Fe 62.20%) was sold at INR 5,620/t ($59/t). The price was on an ex-mines basis, inclusive of royalty, DMF, NMET and applicable additional premium.
At Barsua Mines, all 19,980 t of iron ore tailings (Fe 60.66%) were booked at INR 5,155/t ($54/t), also on an ex-mines basis inclusive of applicable statutory charges and additional premium.
