ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Limited (AM/NS India) placed the highest bid for the Satarda iron ore block in the mines auctions in Maharashtra quoting a premium of 71.25%, SteelMint learnt from sources. The Satarda block is spread over 1,200 hectares (ha) with exploration done up to the G4 level. It has low-grade iron ore reserves along with traces of manganese, chromium and nickel.
