Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang -the world’s leading ship recycling hub – moved up by INR 300/t, d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. Heavy Melting Scrap (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 36,000/t, while attachment scrap prices have been reported at INR 37,000/t. A marginal recovery in semi-finished steel prices yesterday resulted in a slight improvement in scrap prices today, SteelMint notes.
